The Promises of God Are Near

A few months ago, I had a dream in which God said to me, “the promises of God are near.” This statement has been ringing in my spirit ever since. As I have prayed and sought God, I believe we are in a season of harvest where we will begin to see many of the promises that God has spoken over us come to pass. Many promises that we have been waiting on for a long time, promises that we have forgotten about, and things that we think God has forgotten about or will no longer do, God says, He will do in this season.

In the dream, I was also directed to Genesis 8:18 which says, “So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.”  That passage, Genesis 8:1-19, is titled, ‘Noah’s Deliverance’ and verse 1 starts off by saying, “Then God remembered Noah…and all that were with him in the ark.” In this season, God is remembering His faithful ones and He is remembering the promises He has made to us. Now is the time for many of those promises to manifest. Now is the time to shake off any doubt and unbelief, pain, regret, and disappointment from previous seasons. God’s word to you is being manifested now! We are in a time of harvest. Even as the year 2019 is coming to an end, I strongly believe that there are things and promises God will perform in our lives before the year 2020 even begins. And for some of you reading this, He has already begun to do some miraculous things. The promises of God are not just near, but they are here! They are NOW! Do you believe it?

The word harvest means to gather; a season of gathering; an accumulated store or productive result; to pick; to reap. Before a harvest is gathered or any fruit is yielded, the seed needs to be put in the ground well before harvest time. Many of you have been faithful in the things of God. You have been sowing seeds of obedience, sacrifice, and surrender, now harvest season has come. The question is do you believe it? Just as God showed me that His promises are near, He also showed me (even in my own life) that some of us are still holding onto disappointments, hopelessness, pain, fears, and regrets from past seasons that can prevent us from receiving what He is doing in this season.

Sometimes we are too afraid to receive what God is doing (or wants to do) now because we are still hurt by things that happened yesterday. It can prevent us from having hope or a heart of expectation for what God promised. I’ve shared before that a few years ago, I went through a really hard season that almost destroyed my hope in the future and in the promises of God. I went through let down after let down and faced one difficulty after another. It took a lot of time for me to heal from it. Later on, when God began telling me about things He was about to do in my life and when things started getting better, I wrestled with a lot of doubt, fear, and unbelief. I didn’t want to get my hopes up only to be disappointed again. I didn’t want to believe, only to be crushed again. God had to show me that I still held on to the pain of that season. He had to resurrect my hope and breathe life back into me. The enemy wanted me to lose all hope so that my faith in God would die completely. But thank God He showed me the plot of the enemy and gave me what I needed to fight!

Promises of God, Hope, Prophetic Word for 2020, Faith, Believe, promise

When your mind is stuck on the disappointments, fears, and regrets of yesterday, then your heart is not in position to receive what God wants to do and you will not put yourself in a position to PREPARE. Some promises that God gives us will require preparation, they will require getting your house/life in order, and they will require positioning your heart to receive. Are you ready to receive what God wants to do? Is your heart open to it or are you afraid that it won’t happen? Psalm 25:3 says, “No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame.” You just have to know without a shadow of a doubt that God said it. The promises of God are near, but are you preparing your heart for them or are you still weighed down by things from previous seasons? In Joshua chapter 1, God told Joshua that Moses was dead and to RISE UP, gather the people, cross the Jordan and POSSESS THE LAND that He promised to give them. Joshua may have still been mourning the death of Moses, but he had to get over that and rise up to receive God’s promise to His people. Many of you are still weeping over things from past seasons. Your soul is mourning losses from yesterday, but God is telling you to RISE UP and obey what He is telling you to do TODAY so that you can receive His promise(s) to you.

You may have attempted to do something in the past and it may have not worked out very well. You may have expected a certain outcome in the past and it may not have happened. You may have been waiting on a promise from God to come to pass but may have missed His timing. But TODAY, God is saying SHAKE OFF THE WEIGHT OF YESTERDAY! RISE UP AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT I WILL GIVE YOU! To some of you, God will even say, TRY AGAIN! That thing that you tried to do in the past, but you failed in – try again! His grace is on it this time! You will know if He wants you to try again, don’t lose all hope. I love the encouraging words of Isaiah 43:18-19 which says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, NOW it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” God is doing A NEW THING! Forget about yesterday’s mess, receive the new thing that He is doing TODAY. Release the old so that you can receive the new. Go into God’s presence and be open and honest with Him about how you feel concerning past situations. Release all your burdens in His presence and leave them there. As you release those burdens and those lies for yesterday, He will replace them with truths of what He is doing today!

In Joshua chapter 1, after Joshua shook off the grief and received God’s command, he arose, went to the people, and began giving them instructions to carry out God’s command. They had to prepare and get in position for the promise, there were things they had to do. Likewise, when you go before God and release the grief of yesterday, He will begin to give you instructions, plans, and blueprints for what He is about to do in your life. Don’t miss the instructions because you are still grieving. Don’t miss the preparation phase because you are still struggling with doubt, fear, and unbelief, wondering if what God said will even happen. If God said it, IT WILL HAPPEN! Your job is to simply follow HIS instructions. After Joshua gave them the instructions, the people said to Joshua (ch.1, vs. 16), “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.” What will you tell God when He gives you the clear instructions? What will be your response to Him? Will your heart be in position to receive the instructions of God?

If you know that you still carry the weight of grief, pain, disappointment, fear, etc. from the previous season(s), now is the time to go before God so He can deal with those things. Doubt, fear, and unbelief cannot go with you as you go forth to possess what God has for you. Those things cannot dwell with the promise. They can’t go with you as you step out in obedience and build the Kingdom. Those things will even hinder what God wants to do in and through you by preventing you from actually moving forward into the new. So I encourage each of you to go before God and ask Him to remove the weight from past seasons, ask Him to show you what He is about to do or is doing in your life in this season, then ask Him for instructions for what is ahead. Whatever He instructs you to do, do it!

IT’S TIME! It’s time to let go of the past. It’s time to shake off the weight of yesterday. It’s time to go before God, receive the instructions He has for you, ARISE, and carry them out! It’s time for the promises of God concerning your life to come to past. It’s time to go forth in the things He has told you to do. He is paving the way before you, IT’S TIME! Whatever He tells you to do, it’s time! Wherever He has told you to go, it’s time! Go forth in BOLDNESS, not fear. God forth in complete CONFIDENCE in God. God will get the glory out of whatever He is about to do in each of our lives. He doesn’t do things just to tickle our flesh, He does things to show us who He is, and to draw us and those who look at our lives closer to Him. When God births a testimony in our lives and we testify of His amazing power, it helps others overcome the enemy (Rev. 12:11)!

Promises of God, Hope, Prophetic Word for 2020, Faith, Believe, 2 Chronicles 16:9

I believe that God wants to do great and mighty things in the lives of His faithful children, He wants to show out in our lives to show Himself strong. He wants to do miraculous things in and through us for the advancement of His Kingdom. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” So, let God show Himself strong in your life! Move your double-mindedness out of the way and BELIEVE HIS WORD! Make your heart ready for Him to do what HE desires to do, let your life we a place where He can show Himself strong. He is God and He wants to get the glory. Position yourself to receive whatever He wants to do through you. Have a heart of FAITH and expectation because He is God and He cannot lie. Don’t go into 2020 with the old weight of previous seasons. Let them go! We are in a new season which we have already entered into and will continue into the new year. The promises of God are not just near, they are here ¾ they are NOW! Behold, He is doing a new thing ¾ will you perceive it?

[Note: As I prayed and prepared to release this word, God confirmed it time and time again through many others. If you follow this blog or have followed me through the years, you know that I don’t post just anything. I try to be led by God with everything that I post, especially on this blog. And I don’t believe in releasing prophetic words for likes and numbers or just to make people happy. When it comes to the prophetic, I’ll only say what God tells me to say and I would never share something unless I was certain it was from God. This word may not be for everyone, but I do believe that it’s for many people. As with any prophetic word, pray and ask God if this word is for you and how it applies to you. God bless.]

  1. Thank you for being obedient and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I have been feeling so overwhelmed and encouraged at the same time. Overwhelmed because of the death of my father among other things happening now as well so much uncertainty as to the way forward but encouraged because I know the Lord has been speaking to my heart to continue to hope now and my season is changing. I couldn’t understand how to grieve this loss without sinking into despair and not allowing the sea to carry my away. The Holy Spirit keeps knocking and speaking…at times I am not certain what to do but I know I can’t stay in the place I want to. Thank you for this word…sigh. Thank you Lord for this confirmation. Bless you Deborah.

    1. I’m so happy to know that this post was an encouragement to you! God is always on time when He speaks or confirms things to His children.

And I’m so sorry to hear about your father’s death. I pray that God carries and comforts you and your family during this season. It’s tough losing a loved one, but God is with you in the process. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

He will show you how to navigate this season, just take it one day at a time and don’t feel like you have to rush through the grieving and healing process. Just go before God and tell Him exactly how you feel and He will give you what you need (your daily bread) for each day. And during your time in prayer, God will give you instructions for all the uncertainty. Stay close to Him. Rest and trust Him. ❤

  2. Thank you for these words. They are a great encouragement to me to not lose hope and to keep going on….it has been a long and weary road, test after test, storm after storm. To the point that I wanted to die. I have been harassed on all sides but thank God for Yeshua who has strengthened me every day to keep going. I have been under such a spiritual attack. I thank you for your words as my heart has been so weary and my hope waning but I will rise up and ask God to revive my hope…
