Committing My Plans to The Lord in 2023

2023 is upon us! I don’t know about you, but it feels like these last few years have flown by!

Last Thursday at our Fellowship Night meeting we did an end-of-year activity to set our goals for 2023 and commit them to the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established.” The NIV says, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”

So often we make our New Year resolutions but forget to include God in the planning. Over the years, I’ve learned that when I include God in my plans and commit them to Him through consistent prayer and fasting, He helps me accomplish them through gentle reminders and even divine insight and help. God makes all the difference in everything that we do. What I love about this activity is that it incorporates asking God for your word/verse for the new year and a verse for each category of goals. When it comes to our plans, the word of God must be our foundation and inspiration. The word and Spirit of God will keep us going when we feel like giving up.

News // June 30 Day Bible Reading Challenge

For the month of June Heart of Worship Ministry will be having a 30 Day Bible Reading Challenge!

God speaks to us in many powerful ways, but the main way He speaks to us is through His Word. The Word is the means by which we judge (or test) everything we receive in the spirit. Without the Word of God, we cannot judge things correctly.

Join me for this 30 Day Bible Reading Challenge where we will be reading and studying the Word of God for 30 consecutive days through the month of June.

The Lord placed this challenge on my heart just two days ago right after our last (Heart of Worship Ministry) Bible Study. It’s often said that it takes 21 days to form a habit, well I believe that as we discipline ourselves to read the Word for these 30 days that we will develop a new habit of reading the Word consistently and a new love for God’s Word.

This is Heart of Worship Ministry’s very first challenge and I’m excited to see how God will move through it!

What you read during these 30 days is completely up to you. Allow the Lord to lead you on what to read. I will post weekly check-ins and reminders on the ministry’s Facebook group.

Below is a Calendar (pdf) that you can download, print, and use to track what you read each day.

Instructions:

  1. Read and study at least 1 chapter of the Bible every day from June 1, 2021 – June 30, 2021. (I also encourage you to pray the Scriptures — pray what you read).
  2. What you read is completely up to you. Let the Lord lead you on what to read. (Be sure to journal what you learn and what the Lord shows you as you read).
  3. Keep track of what you read each day using the calendar below. You can download and print the pdf. (You are free to use a different calendar or method of keeping track).
  4. I will do a weekly check-in in the Facebook group on Tuesdays to see how everyone is doing.
  5. If you’re in the Facebook group, leave a comment below the weekly check-in posts to tell us how you’re doing and share anything God has been doing/showing you through this challenge.

News // Join Me on Zoom Monday Night!

Hey guys!

I hope you all are doing well and staying safe during these times. I know it’s been a while.

As promised, I will be hosting another Zoom Meeting! (Yayy!) The first one was sooo good. This time I will be talking about the spirit of fear and overcoming it. Fear prevents us from doing so much and can at times show up in very subtle ways. God has not given us the spirit of fear so it’s time to confront it head-on.

2. The Heart Of Worship Collection is officially up and ready!

A few months back I shared that I’d be creating a Heart Of Worship Collection with different items for purchase via my apparel store. Well, that collection is finally ready!

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are having a great week so far. So as I mentioned last month, I will be doing videos on YouTube, some will be live and some will be pre-recorded. I’d love to find out which day(s) most of you will be available especially for the live videos. Which days are best for you to join in on the live videos?

Below is a simple poll where you can select the days you are most available. All of the live videos will take place in the evening time (around 7 PM or 8 PM EST) and on weekdays.

I’d also like to hear your topic suggestions. If there’s anything that I’ve written about that you’d like to have a more in-depth conversation about or any other topics you’d like me to cover, kindly post it in the comment section below.

News // YouTube Channel + More

Hey Jesus worshipers!

As you can see, I’ve added a new tab to the blog called “News.” In this section, I’ll be sharing updates and announcements with you all.

Here are a few updates and announcements:

  1. I’m so excited to announce that the Heart Of Worship Blog now has a YouTube channel!!! God has been tugging on my heart for a few months now to start making videos. So as promised, I will be making videos on different topics as God leads. Some videos will be live and some will be pre-recorded. You can subscribe to the YouTube channel here.
  1. Mark your calendars and set your alarms! This Wednesday at 8 PM EST I’ll be recording a LIVE video on YouTube on my last blog post, “Is Dating Biblical.” Since this video is live, you guys can join me and ask any questions you have on the topic or questions on relationships in general. My husband will also be joining in on this video (yayy); He also has a lot of insight on relationships and I believe he has a lot of wisdom to share on the topic.   2. If you are subscribed to this blog, you should have received an email notification about my latest post, which was also my first Bible Study post, on “Bible Verses for Overcoming Sexual Sin.” You can find that post here. We are in a time where the word of God is being ignored, pushed to the side and replaced by the opinions of man and the trends of popular culture. If we don’t want to be deceived in these times, we really have to get back to the word of God, it has to be our foundation. That’s why I created a Bible Studies category. I want it to be a resource where you can quickly access Bible verses for different topics and situations. And I want it to encourage those who come on this blog to always go back to the word of God as your source.

  3. If you’ve sent me an email recently (via the contact page), please be patient as I respond back to you. I also want to remind you that no one can help you better than Jesus. If you push away the noise, lay your fears and desires down, and really seek God, He will give you the answers and wisdom you need for your situation.
