Your American Dream

The last few months as I’ve scrolled through social media I’ve noticed something troubling among some of the Christian posts and pages that I’ve come across. I’ve noticed more and more preachers and Christians are preaching a gospel that’s tied to promoting YOU and what YOU want. It’s like a really slick and subtle version of the prosperity gospel. It’s not the full out, “sow a seed and receive a tangible blessing” kind of preaching, it’s more like, “everything you’re going through right now is so that God can finally bless you with your dream of how you want your life to be and that thing you’ve been waiting for” kind of preaching. Both are wrong, and both can lead people astray. Continue reading “Your American Dream”

God’s Way to Success

Hey Jesus Worshippers! I pray your Thanksgiving went well and you enjoyed time with family and friends.

A few weeks ago, I was a guest speaker on a podcast and spoke on the topic of ‘Defining Success Through God’s Standards.’ It was an awesome show and topic and I’ll link the podcast below once it’s available. The topic of the podcast reminded me so much of my journey of learning that God’s definition of success is much different from what the world calls success. I wish I knew then, earlier in my journey, what I know now. Continue reading “God’s Way to Success”

Integrity By Design

I’m sure a lot of us can agree that we live in a time where everyone says they are a Christian, everyone goes to church, everyone believes in Jesus, and everyone thinks they are going to heaven. The sad reality is many of the people who call themselves Christians really are not. Many people who profess Christ do not live what they profess; the life they live completely contradicts who they say they are. Continue reading “Integrity By Design”

Why You’re Not Ready for Marriage

I always pray and seek God before choosing a topic for my blog posts each month. God always confirms what He wants me to post about by giving me peace about it in my spirit and/or allowing me to hear the same topic somewhere else. This month as I was praying to God about what to post next, I wasn’t completely sure what the post would be about, but I had full assurance God would show me as He always does. I don’t like to randomly pick topics; my aim is to be led by God because I know that real people, with real lives and real problems, read this blog and they need real spiritual encouragement. So one night, I prayed a simple prayer for God to give me what to post next, then I went to sleep. To my surprise, I had a dream that very night. Continue reading “Why You’re Not Ready for Marriage”

Encouragement for the Stormy Seasons

I don’t know a single believer who has never faced a stormy season. Every believer must go through them, it’s just something that we can’t escape. When you’re going through a storm it’s so easy to feel like you’re all alone and to just want to give up. It’s easy to forget the goodness of God and it’s easy to get in your emotions. If the storm is severe enough, fear and hopelessness can overtake you to the point that you even begin to contemplate options outside of God (been there), but there is always hope. Let It ALL Go

In the last few months the Lord has been dealing with me about letting some things go in my personal life. He has also been ministering to me about how as believers we hold on to certain things naturally and spiritually that He wants us to release. Sometimes the cycles we go through emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically are due to the fact that we won’t release things. These things can be emotions, past disappointments, relationships, ungodly habits, and so much more. Often times we can’t move forward in an area or God can’t do certain things in our lives because we are still holding on to these old dead things. I ministered this same topic at a recent women’s meeting at my church and felt led to blog about it as well. Continue reading “Let It ALL Go”

Being Humble Where God Has You

A lot of times God will have us in a certain place, situation, or season that we don’t really want to be in. We don’t fully see the purpose of us being there and everything in us fights against the place He has us. It could be a season where things don’t look the way you expected, a time were certain needs or desires haven’t been met, an undesirable living situation, or an extended trial. When God has us in these uncomfortable and unwanted places it’s easy to feel like we should be past it, like we should have moved on by now, or like we just deserve better. When God Interrupts Your Plans

“By age 18 I want to be here…by age 21 I want to be there…by age 25 I want to have this….by age 30 my life should look like that…” Sound familiar? Most of us at some point have mapped out our life and told our self what we should have and where our life should be at certain milestones. Some of those road signs typically include having a degree (bachelor, masters, and/or Ph.D.), a great career, a relationship, owning a house, a car, eventually getting married and then having children. This plan is often shaped by what society and our parents tell us our life should look like. And most of us, if we’re honest, didn’t consult God much when we created this plan, we just thought He would fulfill it because *shrugs* “God wants the best for me and that is the best for me.” (Or so we thought)… Continue reading “When God Interrupts Your Plans”

Eternal Consecration

When most of us hear the word consecration we think it’s something we do for a certain number of days to fast, pray, and seek the Lord. We think it’s something we do from time to time and when it’s over, it’s over. That’s all I thought consecration was too until God began to show me that there’s much more to it than that. Consecration is not just something you do when you go on a major fast; consecration for the true believer is a lifestyle! Once you step into Christ you are eternally consecrated – set aside – to and for Him; totally set aside for the Master’s use and for His use alone. Now don’t get me wrong there is a type of consecration where you get away for a number of days to fast, pray, and really seek the Lord, but that type of consecration ends. But when your heart is eternally consecrated to Christ, this consecration continues forever. Continue reading “Eternal Consecration”

Living To Do God’s Will

God's way vs. my way

As believers, it should be our desire to do the will of God for our lives, in every area of our life. Many people have a strong desire to do His will but struggle with finding out what exactly His will for their life is. And there are those who know God’s will for their life but struggle with stepping into it and walking it out. There are specifically unique things that God has planned for each of His children and there are general things that He wills and requires for all of us to live out. So whether you’re walking in God’s will for your life, don’t yet know what His will is for you, or you know but are afraid to walk it out, here is some encouragement for you in your process of living to do the God’s will… Continue reading “Living To Do God’s Will”
